Cyclists keen for Yarwun Handicap

THE Annual Yarwun Handicap was held on Saturday and the riders from M1 Cycles put their pedals to the metal.

In the 50km handicap a number of riders took part in the ride.

The local M1 Cycles team competed in the event, and several riders were at the front of the pack when the finish line loomed.

Of the M1 Cycles riders, Dave Bloomers finished in first place.

Stuart Harland finished the race in fifth place and Brad Lawlor a spot behind in sixth.

Bike riders rode from the bridge at Yarwun to the historical village turnoff and back twice to cover the distance. Lawlor said members were pleased with their times in the race and enjoyed riding in the event.

Lauren Rhodes won the F-grade category of the Handicap.
