Cyclist and driver not charged for accident
UPDATE 7.30am Tuesday:
Gladstone Police have not issued any charges or Infringement notices to the cyclist or driver involved in yesterdays vehicle and bicycle incident.
Gladstone Police Senior Sergeant Royce Devlin said it appeared as though the cyclist had ridden down a drive way onto a section of the road with a steep incline, where she was hit by the vehicle.
"It was lucky this incident did not result in more serious injuries.
"This is another example of the importance of wearing a helmet while cycling," Sgnt Devlin said.
THE teenage girl has been transported to Gladstone Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Queensland Ambulance Service central area operations manager said she sustained injuries to her leg and her face.
A TEENAGE cyclist has been hit by a car on Mylne St in West Gladstone this afternoon.
The cyclist is conscious and breathing.
Paramedics are attending to her at the moment.
Police and fire crews are also on scene.
