Gladstone's crowbar attacker on the run from police
A CROWBAR-wielding intruder who attacked a Gladstone man in his home is on the run following the weekend invasion.
Gladstone detectives continued yesterday afternoon to investigate the circumstances surrounding the violent assault but were yet to have made an arrest.
A 17-year-old woman woke at 3am when the intruder broke in through the front door of the William St unit on Sunday.
She told detectives he was clad in a balaclava and beanie.
The teenager, who has since turned 18, and a man, 23, confronted him.
During the frightening incident the man was struck in the leg by the crowbar after a struggle broke out.
The quick-thinking teenager was able to spray the intruder in his eyes with a can of air freshener.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
