CRICKET WRAP: Uni hunts double, leading reps head to Cairns
CRICKET: After a tough start to the Harding-Madsen Shield season, University gets a golden opportunity to put consecutive wins on the board.
The side travels to Middle Ridge Park to take on Southern Districts, who themselves are looking to get on the board.
Western Districts looks to remain on top of the standings and continue its winning streak at Highfields, while fellow Shield contenders Laidley play host to Thunder.
Wests and Laidley are scheduled to clash in round 11, which is shaping up as the deciding game as to who will take out the Harding-Madsen Shield.

REPS ON THE ROAD TO CAIRNS
Five local players will feature for South Queensland in this weekend’s fixtures against North Queensland in Cairns.
Cameron Brimblecombe will skipper the side. Chris Gillam, Kris Glass, Pieter van der Kooij and Regan Hoger have all been chosen, with Kent Reimers taking coaching duties ahead of the first T20 which begins today.
While there won’t be an Australian Country Cricket Championships in January, Queensland Country and their NSW and ACT counterparts are expected to come together in Canberra at the start of next year.
DOWNS GIRLS RETURN HOME
Darling Downs players have returned home after a solid outing at the Queensland Schools Girls 10-12 Championships in Bundaberg.
The Downs girls finished the tournament in sixth after going down to Capricornia in their final day match, booking their spot after wins over Wide Bay and South Coast.
TOOWOOMBA’S HIGHWAY VENTURE
Toowoomba will send it’s Mitchell Shield representative team down the New England Hwy to clash with Warwick at Slade Park on Sunday.
Toowoomba gets its first taste of action after having a first round bye, coming up against a Warwick team buoyed by a win over Central Downs.
