Cricket matches heat up in Capricornia Cup this weekend

LOCAL cricket continues in all grades this weekend.

In the A-grade Capricornia Cup competition on Saturday, Gladstone Brothers are up against Yaralla at Clinton's No.1 ground.

The other two two-level games are at Rockhampton's No.2 and No.3 grounds, with Frenchville against Rocky Brothers and Capricorn Coast against grand final-bound Gracemere. Gracemere's grand final opponents, The Glen, have the bye.

The reserve-grade sees BITS facing Brothers at BITS Oval while The Glen takes on Yaralla at Sun Valley.

Saturday's B-grade competition has BITS Saints against The Glen at Sun Valley while BITS Gold meets Calliope at BITS Oval.

The final B-grade game is at Clinton's No.3 ground where Yaralla versus Brothers.

All Saturday games start at 12.30pm while Sunday's fixtures start at noon.

Meanwhile, Gladstone takes on Rockhampton in a representative match at Yaralla on Sunday from 9.30am.

Gladstone's under-19 cricketers also take on the best of Rocky on Sunday from 9.30am at Clinton.
