Crabber buys half a tonne of roo meat from mobile meat truck
BEVAN Pidgeon is here for the first time in Gladstone selling roo meat for $1.50 per kg.
His son Darren bought the Warrego meatworks a couple of months ago and they are struggling to make ends meet.
So they've come to try their luck in Gladstone - with their mobile meat truck. They are selling it for what it costs them to produce at the moment, and are looking to come here every two weeks, and maybe down the track have someone in town selling for them.
One professional crabber bought about half a tonne on Tuesday and a lot of people are buying for their dogs.
