CRICKET: Central Queensland open's, under-21 and U18 teams finished with one win and two losses in the Queensland Country Cricket North Queensland Zone Championships in Mackay.

After a narrow 13-run loss to North Queensland on Friday, CQ also suffered a 57-run loss to Far North on Saturday, but bounced back with a 37-run win against Mackay-Whitsundays yesterday.

Gladstone's The Glen pair David Heymer and Jason Seng had mixed fortunes, but the latter was important with the ball and he took 1-34 yesterday to finish with 6-117 in three games. The CQ under-21 side also won its game against MWS by 74 runs.

BITS pair Josh and Ryan Finlay both bowled economically with 0-31 off nine and seven overs respectively yesterday. The CQ U18 team won a three-run thriller on Saturday against Far North, but lost yesterday to MWS by 14 runs. The Glen's Zane and Jake Robertson made 40 and 36 run respectively and Zane also snared 2-31 while his The Glen team-mate Harry Rideout claimed 1-34.
