CQ NRL Bid supports developemnt

THE CQ NRL Bid has renewed its sponsorship of the QRL Central Division for 2012/2013.

The sponsorship helps fund the highly successful Holiday Camps run in Rockhampton and also includes front-of-jersey sponsorship of the U/13s, U/14s and U/16s CQ Capras junior teams.

The sponsorship comes despite recent disparaging comments from the QRL's Central Capricorn Region that was aired on WIN News two weeks ago.

CQNRL Bid CEO said that while the comments had jeopardised the sponsorship renewal, the CQ NRL Bid did not want vital grassroots development to be impaired.

"The CQ NRL Bid did receive assurances from the QRL Central Division that the recent comments were not representative of the Division's views and attitudes towards the Bid," Keeffe said.

"The meeting with the QRL Central Division was very productive and we feel confident the two organisations can work closely together to achieve positive outcomes for rugby league into the future."

QRL Central Division Chairman Michael Borland agreed with Keeffe that the future looked bright for rugby league in the region.

"The comments were regrettable," Borland said.

"The CQ NRL Bid has seen fit to continue this vital sponsorship that is so beneficial to the juniors in the Central Queensland region.

"The CQ NRL Bid has the full unequivocal support of the QRL Central Division in their quest for an NRL team in our region."

The CQ NRL Bid is committed to progressing rugby league in Central Queensland through its suite of Grassroots Program including the QR National Schools Program, the QR National Scholarship Program and the CQ NRL Bid Junior Development Program. In addition the CQ NRL Bid provides vital sponsorships to local league organisations and in-kind sponsorships to local clubs throughout CQ.
