CQ Mariners finish on a homely high

BRIAN NIVEN Park hosted the final home Inter City Cup soccer matches on the weekend.

CQ Mariners under 14 and under 12 teams collectively won two games, lost two and drew two against Mackay, Bundaberg and Fraser Coast.

Mariners' under 14 side enjoyed a 9-1 win against Bundaberg before losing to Mackay 2-0 and a 2-2 draw against the youngsters from Fraser Coast.

The under 12 side opened its account against Mackay with a 1-1 draw before a 3-0 win against Bundaberg.

Fraser Coast then edged out CQ Mariners with a 2-1 win.

CQ Mariner goal-keepers Max Anderson, Billy Devlin, Dylan Fry and Baden Larkin all played extra games to support the Mackay teams.

The Mariners rounds out its season with games against Western Pride in Ipswich this weekend.
