CQ man travelling 50km/hr over the limit cops whopping fine

TWO men travelling at combined speeds of 93km/hr over the speed limit have been issued whopping fines after being nabbed by Capricornia police over the weekend. 

Police issued traffic infrincement notices to the two men following separate high-end speeding traffic intercepts on Saturday. 

 

 

In the first incident, it will be alleged a 28-year-old man was detected travelling at 122km/h in a 70km/h zone on the Bruce Highway at Mt Larcom.

In the second incident police will allege a 21-year-old man was detected travelling 141km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Dawson Highway at Biloela.

High-end speeding refers to a speeding offence that is 40km/h or over in any speed limit.

The penalty for this offence is a $1099 fine, 8 demerit points and 6 month licence suspension.

Speeding at any level is dangerous and police are urging motorists to slow down and observe the signed speed limits for their safety and the safety of other road users.
