Online dating leads to walk down the aisle
JONNALYN Biso and Andrew Reynolds made their love for each other official on November 29.
The couple, who met on online dating site Oasis, were married at Apex Park in Gladstone in front of 30 people.
Jonnalyn wore a pink dress with white detail for the wedding ceremony and loved every moment of her special day.
"It was fun. My favourite part was the ceremony. It's a once in a lifetime," she said.
The lunchtime reception was held at the couple's home with a roast pork and chicken on the menu.
"My friend and I bought decorations and we had balloons and Christmas lights," Jonnalyn said.
There was a three-layered cake which was caramel, chocolate and marble.
Despite not having any family present at the wedding, she said everyone in the Philippines was excited for her.
"I have sent them pictures and videos," she said.
The new couple was given wedding gifts such as a microwave oven, electric slicer, picture frames and gift cards.
They have been engaged since January this year, despite Jonnalyn's living in the Philippines until two months ago.
"We met in August 2013 and Andrew made three visits to the Philippines.
"In March we applied for a marriage visa and it was approved in September. I arrived in Gladstone in October," she said.
Mr Reynolds proposed to his wife at a big shopping mall in Manila.
"It was just supposed to be a shopping trip, but he bought me the ring and proposed in a restaurant when we stopped for lunch.
"I was a bit surprised and shocked," Jonnalyn said.
The couple didn't have a honeymoon, but will travel to the Gold Coast for Christmas.
As for being a married couple, the newlyweds think it's not much different.
"It feels the same. We have spent two months living together anyway," Jonnalyn said.
