Couple has faith in bath industry

AFTER 30 years is the bathroom industry, Andy and Maxine Williams decided it was time to open up their own shop.

They were on the Gold Coast at first and later in Gladstone.

After successfully running their southern business, they saw a market niche in Central Queensland and moved here to start what is now Gala Bathrooms.

Having operated in Gladstone for a year, Mr Williams said times had been been a little tough over the last quarter. However, he had faith in the industry’s resilience.

Gala Bathrooms has been nominated several times by the Gladstone public for the Best in Business Awards as well Best in Service Awards.

As the only locally owned and operated bathroom store in Gladstone with free delivery as far as Rockhampton and Agnes Water, it is little wonder that the business has gained the attention it has.

In the next five years Mr and Mrs Williams hope to expand their business and open another store in Rockhampton.

To nominate a great business in the region, grab a form out of The Observer and drop it in at the Goondoon Street office by October 1.
