Couple finds love on whale watching expedition

IT WAS a case of true love for Janette and Tim Irwin when they met on a whale watching tour three years ago.

The lovebirds - who married on July 25 - will be celebrating their honeymoon and three-year anniversary tomorrow by taking another whale watching tour with Blue Dolphin Marine Tours in Hervey Bay.

"It will be almost three years to the day that we had our first official date on the Blue Dolphin," Janette said.

"We had such a great time that we have always wanted to go back and do it again."

Janette and Tim met through online dating in 2012 and had been corresponding for two and a half months before they decided to meet in person.

As Tim lived in Gladstone and Janette was on the Sunshine Coast, they decided to meet half-way in Hervey Bay and go whale watching.

"It was something that appealed to us as we both loved the water and boating," Janette said.

"Our first date was one of our best memories ever, that's for sure!"
