Singer awarded for contribution
ISABELLA ‘Liz' Green has dedicated 40 years of her life to country music and has now been rewarded for her contribution.
Liz has a beautiful alto voice and sings high and low harmonies. She was born into a talented family that loves to sing and comes from a long line of talent.
Liz began with school and church choirs and then along with sister Margaret used to sing to their fellow workers at the peanut board in Rockhampton, creating a great atmosphere in the workplace.
On moving to Gladstone she joined the Calliope Country Music Club.
Liz has won many trophies and awards over the years and sang in many different bands, duets and groups.
Some of the Gladstone groups she has been involved in include Roy Rains Group, The Jensen's Group and Old Country.
Currently, Liz sings with Kermit and the Misfits who entertain the seniors at Edenvale and the Gardens Retirement Village.
Liz received her award from the Queensland Awards of Recognition in Country Music Association.
The awards were held at the Rockhampton Heritage Village and all winners have their name placed on a plaque on a rock in the village.
Husband Les also won the award two years ago.
