Council conducts lights audit in Agnes, Seventeen Seventy

GLADSTONE Regional Council is conducting an audit of street lighting at Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy this week.

Contractors will be in urban areas during the day and evening on Wednesday and Thursday.

Engineering services portfolio spokesperson Councillor Rick Hansen said the audit would provide an analysis of existing lighting and enable the council to identify future requirements and costing estimates.

"We have been asked on many occasions for additional lighting by residents, so this is the first step in identifying exactly what is needed at Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy," Cr Hansen said.

He said the audit would be conducted in stages that included Round Hill Rd from Tavern Rd to the Agnes Water Community Centre on Spring Rd, the full length of Captain Cook Dr from Round Hill Rd at Agnes Water to Seventeen Seventy, all public walkways to the beach, the entirety of Agnes St to the beach, all central areas and public activity centres in the community, and other residential areas.

Highland Infrastructure Group is conducting the audit and is expected to present the findings to the council later this year.
