Council approves expansion of Valley Woolworths
THE expansion of Woolworths will go ahead at The Valley Shopping Centre after plans were approved by Gladstone Regional Council today.
The application to add more aisles to the store with a 730sq m expansion was lodged in February.
Today the application was approved with conditions including having the developer take responsibility for upgrading the sewer and drainage system so there would be no cost to ratepayers.
The development includes changing the direction of the small one way laneway to funnel traffic onto Oaka Lane and into the new car parks.
Seven submissions were made during the public consultation period, which mainly raised concerns over the barrier wall between the centre and surrounding houses.
