Confusion over helicopter rescue donations

RESIDENTS are being asked to check who their donations are going to after a second community helicopter business was seeking donations in the Gladstone region.

RACQ CAPRICORN RESCUE spokesperson Kirsty Wooler said people whose money is donated to other rescue helicopters will not stay in our region.

"We have become aware of another community helicopter provider currently seeking donations and sponsorship from within our service area," she said.

"Residents and businesses in both Gladstone and Biloela have been calling us to see if their donations were coming to us."

Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service is the primary responder to all medical and search and rescue calls between St Lawrence and Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy, and also travels west to around Emerald and Alpha.
