Salvation Army member pleased with Christmas Toy Run outcome
CAPTAIN Jeff Bush, member of the Salvation Army was very pleased with the outcome of the Christmas Toy Run last Saturday.
"Three thousand three hundred dollars was raised for the Salvation Army, additionally to all of the toys and food donated." Mr Bush said.
"It was a fine day, which was very well organised," he continued.
With this year being very successful, Capt. Jeff said,
"The community has been overwhelmingly supportive of this event."
At the event from start to finish, Mr Bush said, "It was so good to see the joy on the faces of people who just want to give."
The very significant event contributes many donations to the Salvation Army as Christmas approaches.
"We receive plenty of donations, from hampers to toys; it's just a great time of year for the community, who are very generous."
With a very successful year for the event, receiving highly considerable donations for the Salvation Army, the Ulysses Motor Cycle Club has impressed yet again, making a difference to many children's lives this Christmas.
"The Salvation Army is very thankful to The Ulysses Motor Cycle Club for organising this event every year."
"The Lions Club also deserves a special thanks; they cooked the sausage sizzle at the Botanic Gardens and donated some of the money collected."
As the festive season kicks in Mr Bush said,
"The donations have been dribbling in."
Community spirit has shone through within this event, being such a good cause.
Hopefully next year will be just as, if not more successful than this years Toy Run.
