THE heart-warming generosity of the Gladstone community is providing a shining light during the Wilkinson family's darkest hour.

Family members are taking each day as it comes, counting their blessings and thanking the community for their willingness to donate.

Kylie Bulley, grandmother of the three children injured in an accident in Brisbane last Friday, said Gladstone's generosity had blown the family away.

"We are so humbled. We want to thank each and every person," she said.

Three-year-old Abi was left with a broken neck and fighting for her life, but has woken from a coma.

Abi's mum Tanya, her sister Tobi, 8, and brother James, 6, were also seriously injured in the accident.

The fundraising total has now risen to $9677 in only three days, thanks to 172 people.

The administrators of the fundraising page have set their sights on a goal of $30,000.
