VIDEO: Commodore hits light pole, bursts into flames

A DRIVER of a Commodore escaped his burning car after he crashed it into a light pole on the Dawson Hwy.

At approximately 3.20pm, the driver mounted the footpath in front of the Gladstone Showgrounds, clipped the pole and smashed into the Showground fence.

Ergon Energy is restoring the light bulb which is dangling from the pole.

The driver was taken to Gladstone Hospital.
