Colledge couple love South Gladstone

BARRY and Marlyn Colledge loved South Gladstone so much they bought a house in the suburb they had rented in for three years.

Mr and Mrs Colledge bought their dream home in Cooloola Cl, and moved in at Christmas.

Prior to that they had rented in Caincross St and McCann St for two and a half years, just across the road from their current home.

Mr Colledge said they just couldn't leave South Gladstone.

He is a plant operator at QAL, and his wife is a cleaner there, so they're both only a five minute drive from work.

"We moved to Gladstone three years ago from Brisbane because we had enough of the traffic," he said. "We sold our house and rented up here. It's a

lovely place to live and the houses are cheap in South Gladstone."

The couple fell in love with the Cooloola St home which has a view of the hilly terrains of the area.

"You don't see QAL on this side of the hill," Mr Colledge laughed. "We also get a nice breeze on our veranda."

The location suits them, too. "Everything is handy and Woollies is just over the hill," Mr Colledge said.

"We get Indian Brothers at the Toolooa St shops."

WHAT CAN I FIND IN SOUTH GLADSTONE?

CQUniversity (Derby St campus), Toolooa Street shops, John Dahl Pool, Radar Hill and schools.
