Coles and Woolies recall cereals due to glass fears

AUSTRALIA'S two biggest supermarkets have issued an urgent recall of home brand cereals because they may contain pieces of glass.

Coles is recalling 600 gram packets of Right Start Fruit and Fibre with a best before date of July 11, 2015, which was sold nationally in Coles and Bi-Lo supermarkets.

Woolworths is recalling 250 gram packs of Homebrand Honey Poppas with best before dates between July 7 to August 1, 2015.

The cereal was sold in Woolworths and Safeway stores nationally from July 14.

Both products were supplied by New Zealand breakfast cereal supplier Hubbards Foods Ltd.

Consumers are advised not the eat the cereal and to return it in store for a full refund.

Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
