Cole Miller coward punch accused loses bail bid

A MAN charged over the death of Cole Miller has lost his bid for bail.

Brisbane Magistrate Wendy Cull a short time ago refused  21-year-old Daniel Maxwell application for bail.

Mr Maxwell, from Tanah Merah in Victoria, and 21-year-old Armstrong Renata are charged with unlawful striking causing death.

Mr Renata has not applied for bail and remains in prison until his next hearing.

Police allege the men attacked 18-year-old Mr Miller in Fortitude Valley on January 3.

Mr Miller, a talented water polo player from the Sunshine Coast, died of head injuries in Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital on January 4.
