Coach set to stick with playing style

Adelaide United coach Guillermo Amor says he will stick with his side's possession-based playing style, despite not winning a game in the opening three rounds.

The Reds were unconvincing in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Perth Glory at nib Stadium, despite having 69% of the possession.

Adelaide had only one genuine shot on goal during the 90 minutes - a Sergio Cirio strike from close range that was blocked by the Glory's Marc Warren.

The Reds' 75th-minute goal came courtesy of a deflection off Perth defender Diogo Ferreira.

Amor's side has only scored one other goal this season - also an own goal.

But the Spanish coach asked the club's fans to have patience as the players become more familiar with his game plan.

"We will (continue to) play with three strikers and use the width of the pitch … and we expect later on some results, but we are always looking for the three points," he said via an interpreter.

Reds captain Marcelo Carrusca copped two nasty knocks and Mate Dugandzic struggled with cramp during Sunday's match, but Amor said he expected both players would be available to take on the Roar in Brisbane on Saturday night.

Meanwhile Hume City's Albanian defender Shane Rexhepi said his side wasn't daunted about taking on A-League champion Melbourne Victory in tomorrow night's FFA Cup semi-final.

The 30-year-old will mark fellow Albanian Besart Berisha and said his team was, "definitely confident coming into this game".
