BABY FILES: Rugby coach is kicking goals

RUGBY league coach Shaun Hobson is slowly building a team of his own with his immediate family filling half a side.

This month the Valley's A Grade coach and his partner Danielle Currie brought home their fifth baby together bringing the family's total numbers to 12 with ten children all up.

Shaun said even though it can be chaotic at home --- particularly around dinner time -- he's happy to have a big family.

Their newest baby is named Shwyn; pronounced the same as his father's but with different spelling as part of a family tradition in which every child has a 'Y' in their name.

Despite spending the afternoon at the hospital, Shaun actually missed the birth of his new baby.

"I went home to sort out the kids dinner and get them off to footy training," Shaun said.

"We weren't really sure when it would happen and he just came quicker than we thought."

Although Shaun rushed to Danielle's side after getting the call in the car, there was no way he was missing out on football training.

"We had been hoping he would wait until after training finished," Shaun said.

"It was OK. I went back to training after being at the hospital for a while and taking Danielle the things she needed.

"We're a very sporting family."
