Clinton FC have scored a double grand final play off

SOCCER: Clinton FC have scored a double grand final playoff after divisions one and two defeated Frenchville FC teams in the Central Queensland Premier League.

It was CQPL Golden Boot winner Liam 'Pistol' Stephen who scored in the opening minute for Clinton.

The home team did not have it all their own way as Frenchville struck back to draw level early in the second half through captain Tim Hickey.

Clinton forward Ethan Munster broke the deadlock midway through the second half to clinch the game 2-1.

Clinton assistant coach Dan Horton said the club's season-long goal had come about and they needed to focus on one more game.

"Everyone is excited, and the main goal was to make it to both grand finals, and we took the opportunity to host both of them," Horton said.

Clinton division two rolled Frenchville 1-0.

Clinton will play either Frenchville or Capricorn Coast in division one.

The division two side takes on the winner of Central versus Frenchville.
