Choppers find family safe after report of stricken yacht

TWO AGL Action Rescue Helicopters responding to rescue a family aboard a yacht earlier today found the occupants safe and sound.

It had been feared the yacht was breaking up 86 nautical miles east of Bundaberg.

Both helicopters reached the vessel and made contact with those on board the yacht.

The captain of the vessel reported the family of four no longer required assistance and that they would continue to make their way on board the yacht.

Their intended destination is unknown.
