Rocky chef trying out for Jamie Oliver gig
ROCKHAMPTON chef Troy Costin will travel to Brisbane next month to vie for a spot to work in Jamie Oliver's kitchen.
Troy said the famous chef was opening up a restaurant there called "Jamie Oliver Italian Restaurant".
Troy has worked as a chef for 12 years at a number of places throughout Queensland, including Hayman Island.
"I love it, that's why I do it," Troy said.
He said he came across the job opportunity while randomly surfing the internet.

"I saw the advertisement and thought I would throw my hat in the ring, but I didn't think I'd actually get a call back," he said.
Troy will fly into the city on September 17 to take part in a two-and-a-half-hour trial and interview process.
"I think it's going to be similar to what they do on the live national television show, The X Factor," he said.
Troy said he would also get the opportunity to meet Jamie Oliver during a meet and greet. If Troy is successful he will relocate to Brisbane with his family.
