Son of former Cowboys player is a happy fan today

BAILEY McConnell won't have a voice when he wakes up this morning. He spent all last night screaming at the TV.

It paid off; the 10-year-old Cowboy tragic was one of thousands of fans across the country yesterday cheering his hero Johnathan Thurston and the rest of the Cowboys to a nail-biting 17-16 win over the Broncos.

>> YOUR SAY: Grand final highlights, as told by you

>> OPINION: Don't tag Thurston an immortal for grand final win

Going into the game, Bailey wanted nothing more than the Cowboys to flog them.

"I go for the Cowboys because my dad (Brent McConnell) played for them a long time ago," he said.
