Time to check out fun SUNfest events

THE youth holiday program booklet for SUNfest 2015 has been released.

The booklet contains a detailed list of the 50-plus activities on offer, plus important information on dates, venues, costs, requirements and a brief description of each event.

Gladstone Regional Council's community services spokeswoman Maxine Brushe said the quality of activities organised for SUNfest continued to expand each year, as did the interest from local youth.

"SUNfest is a calendar highlight for many youth," Cr Brushe said.

"It provides an exciting array of activities which aren't regularly accessible on a local level and is a great social opportunity for participants to meet new people and make lasting friendships.

"The 2015 program has some fantastic new events and also includes some tried and tested favourites."

The Gladstone Regional Council event, organised by Gladstone Festival and Events, will take place between January 5 and 16.

It will feature youth activities, all-ages activities, community activities and Lil Kids activities for children aged 10-11 years.

The SUNfest 2015 program booklet will be available from the council's administration centres, the Community Advisory Service, Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum, Boyne Tannum Community Centre, Mt Larcom and Agnes Water Rural Transaction Centres and the Discovery Coast Community Health Service.

A full program will also be available on the council website at www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/sunfest.
