Charged over alleged threats with knife and ramming car

A 41-YEAR-OLD man appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday on charges relating to an alleged incident at Gracemere on Saturday.

Police allege Jason Scott Bellert threatened two people while armed with a boning knife and under the influence of drugs.

Yesterday he faced charges of going armed as to cause fear, public nuisance, and two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The court was told Bellert, who was remanded in custody, repeatedly rammed his car into the rear of another vehicle.

Police prosecutor Constable Manon Barwick said Bellert displayed erratic behaviour and was driving in an extremely unsafe manner.

Bellert was refused bail, and will reappear in court on February 5 via video link.
