Ten's new dance show 'a disaster'

PITY the person who has to tell Ten's chairman Lachlan Murdoch that his wife's show is a flop.

Fronted by Sarah Murdoch, Ten's new show, Everybody Dance Now, was one of the network's best hopes to build its audience and ratings after the Olympics.

But two days after a softer than expected launch it has halved an already dangerously low audience to 300,000 and is languishing behind repeats of Heartbeat on Channel Seven's second channel.

Going head-to-head against Nine's Big Brother and Underbelly: Badness, which captured 1.61 million and 1.78 million viewers respectively, the show had little chance but critics have already lined up to bury it.

TV Tonight blogger and ABC Radio National Breakfast's critic David Knox called it a ''disaster''.
