Changes to coach services and trains in Toowoomba revealed
PASSENGER trains that run between Brisbane and Charleville, via Toowoomba, will be suspended from Monday and Bus Queensland services reduced to help contain the COVID-19 outbreak.
Transport Minister Mark Bailey said people should not be travelling on coaches or trains unless they had an essential reason to.
He said decisions would be made to restore services as soon as it was safe to do so.
"These are temporary measures, but they are critical to curbing the spread of COVID-19 into our rural and regional communities," Mr Bailey said.
The Bus Queensland Toowoomba to St George (via Mooney Hwy), Toowoomba to St George (via Gore Hwy) and Toowoomba to Rockhampton services will all reduced to just one service a week.
These changes will come into effect from Monday, March 30.
The Westlander train, which connects Brisbane to Charleville via Toowoomba, usually operates two return services a week.
