Central pushed aside after losing to Bluebirds
CENTRAL FC Premier League side is all but out of the finals after a 0-3 loss to Bluebirds United.
Central started the match with a structured and organised passing game.
The thick accent from centre back Lee Hunter could be heard directing his team from the sideline.
Central had a few opportunities but was wasteful with the shots on goal.
Bluebirds sat back and used forward Todd Batley as a distributor for a counterattack.
Towards the end of the second half Bluebirds' counter-attacking down the wings caused the Central defence to fracture.
Hunter, visibly frustrated with his fellow defender Hayden Turner, began pointing fingers and demanding more talk from Turner.
Soon thereafter, Hunter came in late on a tackle on Bluebirds winger Yianni Kondilis and was given a yellow card.
After the break, the second half started with a flurry of excitement.
Deep in defence for Central, Hunter was under pressure and tried to clear the ball but only managed to scuff it to Kondilis.
Kondilis swooped across the penalty box and then fired the ball past the Central keeper and into the bottom right corner of the goal.
Only minutes later, Central defender Turner was given his second yellow card and sent off.
With ten men on the field the task was too much for Central who let in two more goals.
Central will play their last game of the season against Clinton on Wednesday.
