Central optimistic for next finals round

SOCCER: Central FC Division One and Two are confident they will have a double victory against Capricorn Coast in this weekend's do-or-die knockout semi-finals.

Both divisions are up against the same opposing teams in the Central Queensland Premier League and are optimistic for wins.

Central coach Joel Maudsley said he was confident the teams had the manpower to get to semi-finals.

"We are going up there to win them both and will have fully fit teams to take to the field," Maudsley said.

"We shared the spoils throughout the year and the players are fresh and ready to go for the game.

"The biggest thing is the confidence in both grades to win this game and play against the loser of the Clinton and Frenchville games."

Clinton FC and Frenchville play off against each other in both division one and two. The loser of each division will play the winner of the Central and Capricorn Coast games.

"With players rested we will have a good run on Thursday night. We will have a good game and progress to the next round of semi-finals," Maudlsey said.

The games will be played at Apex Park, Yeppoon, with division two at 5pm and division one at 7pm.

There will be a free 57-seater supporter bus leaving Sun Valley Park at 1.30pm.
