Central, BITS, Clinton win deciders in the Gladstone finals
SOCCER: Two goals to Declan Mackay gave Central Falcons a 3-0 grand final victory over BITS Bullets in the under-16 decider.
Declan scored the opener eight minutes in then made it 2-0 before half time, and Thomas Cullen put the icing on the cake before full-time.
Central Falcons finished the minor round in second place and the Bullets were third and it's testament to these teams to make it to the big dance particularly after Clinton Carnivores took out the premiership.
It was better news for the BITS club in the U15 girls' grand final.
BITS Bangles won 3-2 against Clinton in a quality match which was decided in a thrilling penalty shoot-out after scores were 0-0 at the end of regulation time.
The U14 grand final winners were Clinton Jets over Central Pumas. Goal-keeper Tahma Paraha was player of the match while Lachie Wembridge and Cooper West scored a goal each on top of an own goal.
In a battle of two Clinton U12 teams, Cyborgs took out grand final honours with a 4-1 win over Cannons. Max Lane-Meier scored two goals in a best-afield performance.
