CBD punch-up is man's final brawl before prison

A MAGISTRATE told a Gladstone man to wake up to himself when he appeared in court for fighting in the CBD.

Police were called to a punch-up on Goondoon St about 12.25am on June 16.

Billy James Parnaby was identified as being involved in the brawl.

When police tracked him down he was wearing a torn, blood-stained shirt and had a superficial wound on his face.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to public nuisance in Gladstone Magistrates court on Tuesday.

The court heard he had a history of public nuisance but Parnaby claimed he was just having a bad night.

Magistrate Russell Warfield said if he troubled the courts again he would be sent to prison.

He was fined $1000 with a conviction recorded.
