Caught out twice: 132kmh then 122kmh on Bruce Highway

IN the space of an hour a driver was caught speeding not once but twice.

The motorist was pulled over by the Tiaro police on the Bruce Highway travelling at 132kmh in a 100kmh zone which resulted in a hefty $568 fine and the loss of six demerit points.

The driver didn't learn the first time and was pulled over again an hour later by Howard police, this time doing speeds of 122kmh in a 100kmh zone.

He copped a $406 fine and double demerit points.

In just an hour on Saturday the driver received a total of $974 worth of fines and a loss of 14 demerit points.

Senior Constable Mel Ryan said it was an expensive lesson and a reminder to all motorists that in Queensland if you commit the same offence twice within a 12 month period, the second offence is double demerit points.
