Foster children and carers treated to harbour cruise

SIXTY foster children and their carers were treated to a relaxing, scenic three-hour cruise around the Gladstone harbour and Grahams Creek on Sunday.

The Pyjama Foundation organised the event in celebration of Mother's Day.

Some Pyjama Angels, who spend time reading and playing games with foster children around Gladstone, were also part of the cruise.

The group enjoyed the different view of Gladstone, Pyjama Foundation literacy consultant Lyn Hughes said.

"The WICET development and all the industry on Curtis Island was very interesting as we cruised past," she said.

Riverside Marine volunteered its services for the cruise.

"They were fantastic in keeping us all safe and sound," Ms Hughes said.

"The crew also organised a delicious morning tea and lunch, as well as flowers for the mothers on board.

"It was lovely day."
