Car takes out light pole after crashing off roundabout

A BLACK Toyota came to rest on top of a light pole after its driver lost control going through the Glenlyon/Phillip Street roundabout on Sunday afternoon.

A 30-year-old Gladstone man received minor injuries in the crash.

Gladstone Police said the vehicle went through the roundabout and the driver lost control.

The Toyota Aristo smashed through a pedestrian fence and took out a light pole, coming to rest on a footpath.

Police are still investigating the incident, which happened at 3.50pm.

Fire crews, police and ambulance were on site soon after, as well as council workers assessing the damage to the light pole.

Traffic was not affected.
