Cancellations every time it rains
THE cancellations of flights in and out of Gladstone has left many travellers angry and asking why cancellations happen every time it rains.
Gladstone local Kate Driver was stranded yesterday at the Gladstone Airport after her plane was diverted to Rockhampton.
“I understand that it's for our safety, but why is it that every time it rains planes can't land,” Ms Driver said.
“People and baggage were scattered everywhere and no information was given as to why it was happening. The least they could do is inform the passengers.”
GAPDL Chairman Peter Corones was caught in the debacle and failed to catch his flight. “I was heading to a council meeting in Mackay on Monday and due to the rain the flight in Gladstone couldn't land,” Mr Corones said.
“I understand that the matter is being addressed and it's better to be safe than sorry.”
