Canadian TV reports on phone plea

A WOMAN claiming to be kidnapped journalist Amanda Lindhout has made a telephone call to a Canadian TV station, begging for the government to help her.

The woman reportedly told the station that she would die in captivity if she did not receive immediate aid.

Amanda Lindhout was working with former News-Mail photographer Nigel Brennan when they were abducted in Somalia in August last year.
