Pity the poor hen who laid this monster egg

IF YOU like omelettes, get ready to start drooling.

However, be warned: some mums might start feeling a bit squeamish.

Meerschaum Vale resident, Vicki Turner, recently found a giant egg laid by one of seven of her Sussex chooks.

It's. A. Whopper!

The egg has a girth of 19cm compared to a regular egg which comes in at just 14cm, while it stands at 11cm, dwarfing one of the more average egg which has a top-to-bottom length of 7cm.

Vicki said she checked the chooks after she found the egg, and they were all fine - that's despite one of them pushing out this monster.

Vicki plans to blow the yolk and whites from the egg and keep the shell.

And she said she would probably not let the egg's goodness go to waste, and that omelette was likely to be served up.
