Hotshots turn up the heat for Gladstone girls

THE Sydney Hotshots are set to heat up The Grand Hotel when the group journeys to Gladstone in June.

For 23-year-old Jake Latimer, being a part of The Sydney Hotshots still feels new.

The performer has journeyed with the group for about a year.

"I feel like I'm still new as being on the road, time flies with this job," he says.

The group will be in Gladstone to entertain at the Grand Hotel on Saturday, June 1.

This week, Jake answers some questions for The Observer.

Q - What makes you different from other groups such as Manpower?

We are pretty much the same although The Sydney Hotshots are very down to earth and our show is more audience friendly.

The ladies really participate with most of our routines, which makes it a lot more fun and more personal.

Q - What is your best experience in the group?

This is a hard one. Being originally from Canada, it's so great to see so much of Australia and travel to NZ with such a great group of guys.

We are with each other for more than half the year so travelling together it's more brothership.

Q - What began your journey with The Sydney Hotshots?

I lived in Tassie for four years, and moved up to Brisbane where I started topless waiting for private parties and nightclub events, which escalated into a job with The Hotshots.

Q - Does anything in the group challenge you and if so, what?

Sometimes the long drives get to you but to tell you the truth, it's a dream job and I can't really complain about anything.

Q - Where do you see yourself in five years?

To have my airline transport pilot's license and to be flying for an Australian air company - Virgin, Jetstar or Qantas - would be a dream.

Q - What do you look for in a woman?

A girl with a great smile and eyes grabs my attention, but my ideal girl would be an outdoorsy, not-afraid-to-get-dirty type of girl who enjoys the fitness aspect of life as well as the small things, and can also deal with my crazy sense of humour.
