Take off your shirt: Tales from a Lightbox bartender

MONDAY MALE: Cam Townsley has fallen in love twice since moving to Gladstone - but it hasn't been with women.

The 28-year-old moved from Brisbane in 2011 and three years ago he found Crossfit.

It's an exercise trend he absolutely loves despite the fact he isn't terribly strict on his diet.

Then in August last year he started work at Lightbox and fell in love with bartending which led to some odd experiences.

"I would say the strangest thing that has happened to me so far was a woman who requested I take off my shirt and get on the bar so she could do shots off my body. I didn't.

"And just last weekend I had someone ask if I could make a mojito using Bundy Rum.

"That was weird and it tasted horrible."

He said memorising the ingredients for all the cocktails was the hardest part about his first bar job and while he might have mastered a mojito, you won't catch him juggling glasses.

"I am not into all that flaring stuff. I just want to get your drink to you as fast as possible.

But in two months you won't see him behind the bar anymore because he's off on adventure.

"I'm heading to the US to do the east and west coasts then going to live in Canada and keep bartending."
