Cambage to sit out WNBL season

AUSTRALIAN Opals superstar Liz Cambage has decided to sit out the rest of the WNBA season.

Cambage, who became the first woman to slam dunk in an Olympic game against Russia on the way to taking a bronze, was due to take up her spot in the Tulsa Shock team for Friday's game with Los Angeles.

But Shock officials announced yesterday Cambage did not make the flight to Tulsa and would not be returning for the rest of this campaign.

Team officials said they expected the Australian to return to the team for the 2013 season.
