Calliope swimming pool open to public again

THE Calliope State School swimming pool has re-opened to the public after being closed because of fluctuating water quality readings.

Gladstone Regional Council staff worked closely with Education Queensland to ensure the problems had been rectified, allowing patrons to return to the pool on Friday.

Council hires the pool from Calliope State School to provide the Calliope community with access to swimming facilities outside of school hours.

Pool facilities include off street parking in Stirrat St, kiosk, chairlift, amenities, barbecues and picnic tables as well as a toddler wading pool.

The pool is open from 3.30pm-6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10am-4pm on weekends and school holidays (closed during summer school holidays).
