A FRESH-FACED Caitlyn Shadbolt dropped by The Gympie Times office earlier this week announcing she was in the mood to party on Sunday.

The X Factor Top 5 contestant is headlining a free concert in Nelson Reserve to thank the Gold City for its support while the singer was on the hit singing show.

"I've been to the site and Council has it looking good," Caitlyn said.

"I can't wait."

The X Factor star wanted fans to know a back up plan was in place should it rain.

"We will head to The Pavilion if we need to - there is a backup plan," the young singer said.

Caitlyn will be singing a selection of songs from her time on X Factor excluding, she joked, the songs that attracteding negative comments from the judges.

The singer's mum has been busy preparing merchandise for the concert, including t-shirts, stubby coolers and stickers.

A signing session will also allow fans to meet and greet the singer.

"I can't wait to meet everyone who supported me and just thank them," Caitlyn said.

The country star hinted a special entrance was in the worksplanning but was remaineding tight-lipped to keep fans guessing.

"An entrance is happening and I will even have my own trailer," Caitlyn said.

A trailer is a far cry from the quick changes the singer has perfected in the cramped space of the family car while on the road for pub performances.

Since returning home, Caitlyn has been busy planning her music career after X Factor.

The singer said she had plans to release an EP and had been in contact with producers and songwriters in Nashville.

Caitlyn Shadbolt's concert Sunday is from 1pm- 4pm, featuring AICM bands, Stealing Lincoln and the Wolfe Brothers.
