Bus, car in crash at popular Coast tourist spot

UPDATE 10.22AM: Paramedics have transported a woman in her 20s to a doctor's surgery after her car collided with a bus on the Sunshine Coast. 

She was treated for facial injuries on the roadside just after 9am at Nambour Connection Road, 200 metres west of the Big Pineapple. 

The five bus passengers were uninjured. 

Fire crews made the scene safe after fluid leaked across the road, and the road is now open and clear from hazards.

EARLIER: COMMUTER chaos has arrived on the Sunshine Coast, after a bus and a car smashed into each other in front of a major tourist hotspot.

Paramedics have raced to the Big Pineapple in Woombye amid reports that a bus carrying five people has collided with a car just before 9am.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said all passengers in both vehicles have freed themselves from the crash wreck, but paramedics are treating one person for facial injuries on the side of the road.

Police are on scene to direct traffic, which is banking up on Nambour Connection Road.

Fire crews are also on scene, with reports coming in from police that one of the vehicles has leaked fluid across the road.
