UPDATE: Bruce Hwy at Benaraby now open

UPDATE noon:

THE Bruce Highway is now open to single lane operation under traffic control. Proceed with caution.

UPDATE 9.50am:

The Bruce Highway between Tannum Sands Road and Boyne Island Bridge at Benaraby is closed to all vehicles due to a tree over the road.

UPDATE 9.15am:

THE Burnett Highway is now open with caution at Washpool Gully, 5km north of Biloela.

Water remains over the road.

Earlier:

THE BURNETT Hwy is closed 5km north of Biloela at Washpool Gully. 

It has been closed since 10pm last night, when police received reports that a driver had been washed into the gully.

He was able to reverse out of the water and safely get out of his vehicle.

The last update was given at 11pm last night, when the road was still closed.

There are also reports the Burnett Highway near Monto is closed due to water over the road, although it's yet unconfirmed.

It serves as another reminder that if it's flooded, forget it.

Kalpowar Rd also has water over the road that drivers should be aware of. There are no delays, however drivers have been warned to be cautious.

More wet weather is expected this week, with a chance of storms today until Wednesday.

Remember: If it's flooded, forget it.
